Introduction to Wet and Dry Felting

Investigate the ancient craft of felting!
Please join us for this two-part class where students will discover two different techniques to transform fluffy, un-spun, wool fibres into sturdy felted fabric.

At first, wet-felting techniques will be explored and a flat textile will be created. Instruction will include how to build a simple picture using only wool fibres, water, soap and elbow grease. Students will use the sweet image of a house on a hill as their reference image.

The second class will introduce dry felting techniques which will be used to add details and embellishments to the wet felted image. Students will have the freedom to decorate and experiment within their scenes and make them their own.

2 sessions: session one will be 3 hours, session two will be 1.5 hours.

Materials: All materials and supplies are included in the class fee. Each student will be given a felting kit which will include: felting mats, wool roving, and felting needles.

Level: No experience necessary.
