Silk Cloud

It's all true! This yarn is like a cloud! A light as air, gossamer fine yarn; Silk Cloud is a blend of kid mohair and silk. This yarn may be similar in composition to many lace-weight yarns you can find on the market but Shibui Silk Cloud is something special. This mohair is soft with a fine halo. It knits into garments that have just the right amount of fuzz. Results are elegant and refined rather than hairy. The silk gives the yarn an inner glow and also a lovely drape. Knit or crocheted all on it's own Silk Cloud makes dreamy, airy fabrics and it is heavenly when mixed with other yarns.

The Knit Café has designed two projects with Shibui Silk Cloud. Four different colours are knit into an oversized but light as a cloud shawl we call Clouds. Choose your 4 favourite colours of Shibui Silk Cloud to complete this project. Customers who purchase four different colours of Silk Cloud will get the Clouds pattern free!

Silk Cloud is held together with wonderful Madelinetosh Prairie to make Sashiko. The Sashiko pattern includes both an extra wide cowl with button closure and scarf instructions. Be prepared! This garment elicits the ooh- ah! response from onlookers. Choose 3 different colours of Shibui Silk Cloud and a complimentary colour of Madelinetosh Prairie too and we will know you plan to make Sashiko and send you the pattern free.
