Wee Woolen Wonder
100% Canadian sheep's wool, regionally sourced and dyed in Nova Scotia by the lovely folks at The Fleece Artist. We love this yarn as a knitting wool but we think it is extra special in rug hooking and punch needle projects. Try it in your tapestry weaving, your next fairisle knitting project or anytime you need just a smidge of a particular colour.
Woolen Wonder has a bouncy, plied spin. For this reason we find it works well in both the Fine and the Regular Oxford Punch Needles. The Fine Needles make stitches that are small, crisp little nuggets, the Regular Needles show off the loftiness of the yarn as it blooms and fills in spaces like a champ. On the punching side we find the Fine Needles are best. Traditional Rug Hookers can use a variety of hook sizes. New rug hookers will find this a wonderful first yarn to work with as it travels easily through the fabric and does not get stuck in the hook. It is handsome in any pile height from tallest to shortest. Each wee skein covers aprox 10cm to 14cm (4" to 5.5") square depending on your needle size, pile height and tension. If you want a skein with more yardage for a larger project check out our 50g skeins of Woolen Wonder
Since Woolen Wonder is dyed by hand it has lovely, subtle colour variation. This adds a lot of richness and depth to any project. This makes it extra inspiring to work with.
