Dapple
Dapple combines too good things and makes something really, really, great. This is a very unique yarn! If you seek the full scoop you could do no better than to check out this video by Brooklyn Tweed, but we will outline some of Dapples special character here:
Dapple is a 2-ply, woolen spun yarn; so it is light and bouncy too. It is made from a combination of organic cotton that is sustainably produced in Texas and Merino Wool which is also sustainably sourced from Colorado. The cotton and the merino fibres in this yarn absorb the dye differently. The cotton remains light and sometimes white in colour and the merino takes in all the dye's vibrancy. This makes every skein of Dapple unique. You can work with multiple skeins on the colour spectrum from light to dark to produce ombre effects or alternate your skeins to create an allover blend. All projects made with Dapple will be one of a kind! When ordering Dapple feel free to email The Knit Cafe to let us know how light or dark you would like your yarn - we will try to accommodate your wishes.
Brooklyn Tweed always goes the extra mile when it comes to producing ethical products and we love them for it. The cotton sourced for Dapple comes from non-genetically modified seed and is grown with natural fertilizers. The Texas Organic Marketing Coop produces this cotton with care. They employ water conservation methods and have a workforce that is paid a fair wage and is not exposed to harmful chemicals. Brooklyn Tweed is also donating 3% of the profits from this yarn to The National Black Farmers Association.
Since Dapple is a blend of cotton and merino wool it is squishably soft and it will suit many kinds of garments. You can use the Dapple in any of the Brooklyn Tweed projects that call for Arbor. Have a look HERE for that pattern collection.
Clicking on a picture will not change the colour selection. To select a colour for purchase: pick a colour-name from the list in the drop-down menu. The picture of the yarn will then change to match.
