This workshop is designed to fill in the gaps that sometimes appear when people cobble together their knitting education from here and there and everywhere. If you are a knitter with some basic skills but still feel like you are a bit lost in the woods - we hope that this class will be the breadcrumb trail that will lead you to better understanding. Covered in this class:
- Techniques for Fixing Mistakes
- Everyday Knitting Tips
- Reading Knitting Patterns
- How to Pick out Materials for a Project - Yarn, Needles, Everything!
- All About Gauges and Swatching
In addition this class will also include a student led curriculum. Come in with your queries and questions and we will work through them together. Attendees will be encouraged to pick a project to use as reference during class. Do not bring a project in progress.
3 session course, materials not included
Materials: Please bring in a knitted swatch still on the needles. Use a medium weight yarn that is smooth and easy to see your stitches. Cast on 25 stitches and knit in stocking stitch for at least 8cm - do not cast off. You may want other scrap yarn and a variety of needles and darning needles to practice techniques or to start a project
Level: Advanced Beginner. Students should be very confident with casting on, and off, knitting and purling.
Cancelation Policy: No refunds are provided for students who cancel their class registrations. A store credit or exchange of the date of the class can be given if you provide 3 days notice prior to the first session of your class. Notifications made within 3 days of the start date are not eligible for a store credit or exchange. Exceptions may be made for students who miss classes due to COVID-symptoms - please get in touch.
