Heavy Merino
Heavy Merino, is only heavy in the sense that it is bigger than its little cousin; Knitting For Olive's Merino. We would say that this is more like a medium weight yarn, but it is this middle weight status that makes it the perfect choice to do the heavy lifting in pretty much any kind of project you can think of - jumpers, hats, scarves, blankets etc.
Knitting For Olive's merino wool comes from an organic farm in Patagonia, where mulesing is not allowed. The fibre is mill-spun in Italy. This is a non-treated merino, so all the beautiful, elastic properties of the wool remain intact. Goods made with this yarn will keep their shapes and wear beautifully. Heavy Merino is a worsted spun yarn with a smooth texture, suitable for showing off stitch patterns with aplomb; it is not slick and shiny like a super-wash variety. Expect this yarn to be spongey and soft, with a natural, wooly quality.
Try mixing and matching the sweet, Nordic inspired colours of the Heavy Merino with Knitting For Olive's Soft Silk Mohair to get plush, and fuzzy results.
