It's another cleverly named, delicious yarn from Wool And The Gang! Alpachino Merino, as the name suggests is a blend of Merino and Baby Alpaca. It has a super seductive feel. Both fibres are stupendously soft. The Alpaca gives the yarn a little bit of fuzz and a little bit of drape. The Merino gives the yarn a bit more structure and stability but does not sacrifice a whit of softness.
This yarn is lovely and plush and it is really easy to work with making it a wonderful beginner yarn for accessories like scarves and hats. We have tried it on our Toques for Tout le Monde pattern that we use in our Knit 101 class and we love it! For hats make sure to knit to a tight gauge to avoid stretching. For scarves a looser and loftier gauge is possible. Either way - we think you will love using this yarn.
