Hand made in Canada - 100%.
Lichen and Lace is a talented hand dyeing enterprise working from Sackville, New Brunswick. The Rustic Heather yarn was created from Canadian sheep's wool and spun in the oldest surviving mill in Canada. It has a woolly, rustic texture, complete with lanolin and occasional bits of hay. Since the natural properties of the wool are retained this yarn will work up into sturdy, well wearing garments that won't stretch out of shape. In other words it could be a gorgeous sweater. Rustic Heather will soften and bloom when washed but will always maintain it's rustic character.
The colours of Rustic Heather are deep and rich. They are "heathered" thanks to the varying pigmentation in the natural wool. When Lichen and Lace's hues soak in wonderful things happen. The Rustic Heather would be wonderful worked double stranded with the Lichen and Lace Marsh Mohair.
