First Pair of Socks Class
COVID-19 Protocol: It is a priority for us to keep our community safe and healthy. All participants in Knit Cafe classes must wear masks in the shop for the duration of the class. When you register for a class you are agreeing to do so. Thanks for working with us on this!
Socks! You can’t have too many of them, and they make appreciated gifts too. As a knitter, there is much to learn from socks. The sock pattern tends towards advanced decoding, and the sock heel a tricky bit of business to navigate. Once learned though, a sock is a satisfying and very portable project. Sock makers will learn the skills of picking up stitches, and shaping the heel, instep and the toe. Once one sock is made a sockaholic is in the making.
2 sessions, first session is 2 hours, second is 2.5 hours. Materials not included
Materials: We recommend 4mm double pointed needles, and worsted weight yarn such as Lichen and Lace Merino Worsted or Berroco Vintage. Quick knitters may use sock weight yarn and 2.5mm double pointed needles. All supplies are available at the Knit Café.
Level: Advanced. Students must be experienced and comfortable with double pointed needles before taking this class.
