Cable Knitting for Beginners

Are you curious how to make those beautiful, twisted, knitting textures? Cable knitting can make any garment or knit accessories extra special. In this class students will learn how to use a cable needle and create cable stitches while they work on a pretty headband project. Cable knitting patterns both written and with charts will be decoded. Tips and advice will be given for staying on track while following cable patterns, and questions will be answered about keeping good tension. Bonus! - any students who is interested can learn about cabling without a cable needle too!

1 session, cable needles will be provided, all other materials not included.

Materials: 5mm needles and Worsted or Aran weight yarn available at The Knit Cafe. We recommend Lichen and Lace Merino Worsted, Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino, or Brooklyn Tweed Tones.

Level: Confident beginner. Students should know how to cast on, and be able to create simple knit and purl patterns such as "ribbing".
